PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE
Cedarcrest has begun looking for the man that God has already selected to lead us as our Senior Pastor. The following Cedarcrest members have answered the call to be part of Cedarcrest Church's Pastor Search Committee. Please pray for them and the important work they are doing.
I am a local Realtor, married to Carrie Fountain for 15 years and have two beautiful daughters Haley and Katelyn. My family and I first visited Cedarcrest over ten years ago. We began serving at Cedarcrest a few weeks after our first visit, I am currently involved in the Men's Ministry, serve on as a deacon in the church and Carrie is involved in the Children’s Ministry. I'm super excited about this exceptional team that the Church has put together to find our next pastor, I am excited to get started and let the Lord lead the way!
We have been members at Cedarcrest for almost 3 years and we have been involved from the beginning. My wife has been a part of the Women's Ministry, we have led small groups, and I am currently a deacon. I am a TV Newscaster for HLN/CNN, and I have been a part of this profession for over 30 years. I am humbled and honored to be a part of this search committee. I talk for a living, but one key to finding the next man to lead our church is to listen. We need to stop and listen for the Lord's direction, and we need to hear the heart of the man who will lead us. I am excited about how God will move through this process and what He has for us in the future. Great things are in store for Cedarcrest Church!
My name is John Hall and I work in sales for a technology company. My wife Christy and I have three children and have been members at Cedarcrest for about 12 years. Most recently, I have been serving in the children's ministry and will be the elder representative on the search committee. I love the way our church has lived up to our motto and am so excited to see how God is going to use our church in this next chapter.
My family and I have been a members of Cedarcrest Church for 10 years. I served in the children’s area for five years before moving to the Welcome Center where I am currently serving. Professionally, I am the Human Resources Manager for a local accounting and finance staffing firm. I grew up in Marietta and now reside in Acworth with my husband Mike, son JJ and our golden retriever Finn. Outside of work and church, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching my son play baseball and all things outdoors. I love Cedarcrest Church and I am honored to be a part of this amazing team! I am so excited to see God’s great plan unfold for all of us here at Cedarcrest!
I work as the Occupancy Management Coordinator at Kennesaw State University, and have been at Cedarcrest since the Summer of 2014. My wife, Emily, and I joined about a year later in 2015 officially. I have worked with the Student Ministry since the end of 2014. I am currently the Junior and Senior Small Group Leader, and one of the Fourth and Fifth Grade Small Group Leaders. I love what the Lord is doing with our church, and I am so excited to see what else he does here in the next few months! He is capable and faithful.
I work as the Tactical Pricing AVP at Equifax, and have been at Cedarcrest since the June 2005. Our family officially became members in March 2006. Cedarcrest Church is my church home and is a major platform God has used to morph me into someone more usable for His kingdom, as well as a major foundation for Olivia & I in raising our three children to know and love Jesus Christ. I am all in on this search, as it will shape the next 10…20…30 years for lives, families, our community and how effectively Cedarcrest Church is used to expand His kingdom reach!
MARY KAY NEIDHAMER
I am retired, but in my earlier life I was a stay at home mom for 20 years. I then counseled prospective students in the admission process at Taylor University, a Christian College. I was widowed after 29 years of marriage and met and married John, my husband. We have been married 28 years. We retired to Florida but 2 years ago moved to Acworth to be closer to family. God directed us to Cedarcrest and we quickly got involved in leading a marriage class Sunday mornings. I have also been leading a young mother’s class this school year. God has blessed us in the short time we have been here with growing friendships in the Cedarcrest community. Our blended family consists of 8 married children and 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. We believe God has placed us at Cedarcrest for this season of our life and desire to follow His will in any way He reveals.
My wife, Jenny, and I have been married for 14 years and a part of Cedarcrest Church for 10 years. We have been blessed by Cedarcrest and its members and staff! We have seen our kids grow up and come to faith and be baptized in recent years! I work in Business Development with a nonprofit called National Center for Youth Issues. I am deeply humbled and honored to be a part of this process. I am looking forward to seeing how God directs and guides us through the decision-making process!
My name is Dana Rogers. I teach mathematics at Kennesaw Mountain High School. In addition to teaching, I coach softball (fast and slow pitch) and the precision air rifle team. I have been a member at Cedarcrest for a little over 3 years and have served as a greeter since I became a member. Cedarcrest has felt like home since I walked through the doors and I look forward to serving on this committee and finding the man God has to lead us on the next leg of our journey as we grow together and go together in Christ.
My name is Megan Strange and our family has been privileged to be a part of Cedarcrest Church for the past 8 years. My husband Clint is a deacon and serves on the Care Team, in addition to teaching Financial Peace University on Wednesday evenings. I lead the Response Team that meets with people to pray after the services on Sunday morning, and I have also been involved with missions in Haiti. I was the team leader for the Tim Crunk 5K the past few years. Our children Emma (8) and Eli (4) are very involved in the Kids Ministry, and love Cedarcrest as much as we do! I have been on staff at North Cobb Christian School in a variety of roles for the past 12 years, serving as the Upper School Principal for the past 8. I have a degree in Christian Leadership from the Seminary at Liberty University, and am finishing up a Doctorate in Educational Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It's a joy to serve Cedarcrest Church, and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in these exciting days!
